Crazy post apocalyptic Lovecraftian nonsense. Ive been making slow progress on my epic graphic novel Ruined Earth. At this rate ill be done roughly in the year 2050.
Man, can't wait to see where this goes. Was listening to Lovecraft in audiobook form just yesterday -- was always aware of his work/lore, but had never familiarized myself with the actual source material. "The Call of Cthulhu" is some chilling shit.
PLONG! Alright, I've pulled my jaw off the floor. I'm looking forward to reading this-hopefully before 2050. Of course I'll wait if need be. Are you writing this as well?
The second page is especially amazing Billy, I love a nice set of ruins.
Underfoot: Yeah Im not sure why Lovecraft has been such a big influence on me. I guess hes really not that great a writer, but for some reason ive been obsessed with his work since childhood. Try Clark Ashton Smith for something in a similar vein which is arguable better.
David: Yep Ive written a general outline and am in the slow process of breaking that down into legible comic pages. Hard work!
Two of the things I love about your work, Billy, are your shapes and patterns. You have a good eye on picking your shapes. The way you use busy patterns and negative spaces are excellently composed - A fantastic layout in the tru sense of the worb my friend. May you and your family have awonderful Christmas season. Blog you next year brother.
